To all the guys who helped me on this. After a week of absence I tried my MF-35 again yesterday and it showed the same symptoms: hard start, running irregularly, needed almost full choke and when loaded the warm engine would stall. I had removed the crankcase line (the one from the top)and found out that it was not causing the problems (when I sealed the hole in the manifold it did not change the behavior)I tried playing with the low andd high speed needles but only the high speed was causing a response. I was even able to remove the low speed needle completely without any change in the revs or sound. So I decided to take the carb off and cleaned it again whatching for all small passages and making sure I did not forget anything. I noticed there was quite some play at the throttle shaft bearing (not on the side where the rod is but on the other side). As I did not have a rebuild set I left it at that(it did not seem to cause a vacuum leak). After a last inspection I put it back on the manifold reconnected all rods and the fuel line. Set the needles out 1,5 turns and turned the ignition key ..... .. Voila it was spinning like a kitten! No popping, banging or nothing. Even warmed up and under load or when increasing revs it kept very smooth. Thanks for all the hints and help. It surely got me in the right direction. In the meanwhile I will order a rebuild kit for the Zenith 28G Carb.
