Can anyone tell me where I can find original looking gauges for a 1950 MH Pony. It currently has an amp and oil temp gauges that do not work. Would like new ones.

Actually, the amp gauge seems to be working in reverse. Turn on the key and it shows a charge, start the engine and it shows a negative charge. Why? Wired wrong? The battery remains strong.

Also, I have an original looking switch next to the steering column on the dash. Was this for lights? Where can I obtain new 6 volt lights that look original?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this works on a 6 volt
system but if you want to buy the cheapie sets
from K-Mart like I did, they work fine for exterior use. Just make sure you seal with silicon
around the bezel and bore a small 1/8 in hole
in the bottom rear of the gauge housing to let off
humidity. Careful you don't go in too far as you
will damage the gizmo. You may be able to get a 6 volt set
somewhere. If your going to a 12 volt alternator
system later the old 30 amp ammeter won't do
anyway, you'll need a 60 and greater.

Reverse the wires on the ammeter. It will work both ways. One of the few things in electronics that can be hooked up backwards without smoke.
