I recently purchased an antique tractor seat used
for decorating our upstairs. It is cast iron and
has TORONTO above the hump in the seat and other
letters curved at the back of the seat. Two of the letters are missing and I have been trying to find out what it had originally said.
The letters are T H E - - K E .
I would appreciate any information on this matter.
Thanks a lot!!

Just today i found a seat made out of cast iron with holes in it that spell Stoddard. I did a search on the net and found ref. to Charles Stoddard from Dayton Ohio who was legacy to the Stoddard Manufacturing Co. which made Farm machinery until 1905. They also made bicycles .One farm item they made was a Tiger sulky hay rake Ca. 1883 Perhaps that is what you and i have. Hope that helps .

Hi Bill,
just came across your posting about a Stoddard tractor seat. The other day I was clearing some trails with my John Deere tractor through our Massachusetts woods and came across a long abandoned disk harrow it had a Stoddard iron tractor seat. The harrow has two iron wheels in the rear and was obviously made to be pulled by horses. I assume that the whole unit was made by Stoddard - not just the seat.

You seem to be an expert on Stoddard, so I thought you might be able to give me a bit more information on this item. Is it worth hauling out of the woods which were obviously fields many years ago? I'm not a collector, but any information on it would be of interest. Thanks, Mason

I have an old cast iron tractor seat with the words Moline carved out of the back of the seat. Any idea what this would be worth?
