I look at ebay. What's up with Britains stuff. It gets large coin everytime. I don't know why. There seems to be no shortage of them. Please give me 411.
thanks, kev

I'll tell you what little I know. Britains toys are made in Europe, and most likely in England. They are most always in 1/32 scale, which is the popular size over there. I do believe that Racing Champions Ertl bought them out a year or so ago.

They are some neat looking, well-detailed toys, and the model numbers generally relate to the European numbers used by the U.S. manufacturers as well as the many European companies.

I hope this helped just a little. I'll look at some on ebay, just for fun.

Stan

You're abosolutely right about Racing Champions/Ertl buying out Britains, which is probably not good for the farm toy collector. Racing Champions bought Ertl two or three years ago, and the emphasis has changed from farm toys to NASCAR and other racing things.

One good thing will be happening starting this fall. The National Farm Toy Show special edition tractor will be in 1/32. A lot of collectors in the U.S. do not like 1/32, but I think there is a lot of good detail without the excess size of 1/16.
