I have a battery operated Ford 4000 HD Industrial Tractor that I got for Christmas back in 1962 or 63. It is made of tin and is about a 1/8th scale. It uses two D batteries that go inside a hand held controller. The controller has 4 push button switches and a steering wheel which is connected to the tractor by a cable. It has a motor powered front end loader and a back hoe that is operated with a crank. This is the only one I've ever seen. Has anyone ever seen one like this? I need a few parts for it that I took off when I was a kid. I need the two front wheels, and the three miniature motors along with the steering cable. I'm pretty sure I can retrofit the motors and possibly the steering cable, but need the front wheels. Does anyone know where I could possibly find parts for something like this? Besides the missing parts, the tractor itself is in excellent to mint condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The 4000 HD even made it to UK. I have the cream and blue version that was given to me about 40 years ago, It is fairly good condition having hardle ever been out of the box in the last 30 years.

The tractor and mech is in good condition and all work but time and storage has taken its toll and I could use a new control cable which has siezed and control box operating wheel is broken. Both items could be repaired but replacement would be better.

I saw your request for parts and wonder did you ever locate a source?

Hi Henry, This brings back memories. I also got one of these old tractors for Christmas in 62'or63' I remember it was one of my favorite toys and nobody dared lay a finger on it. But for some reason one of the front wheels did get broken . I replaced it with another toy tractor wheel of solid rubber by drilling it out. Then I bent down the star shaped fingers that used to be molded into the original wheel and pushed it on. It's been that way for 35 plus years. If you can find parts for these gems , that would be the way to go.The steering wheel on mine was twisted off from turning it so much, other than that it is 100% GOOD LUCK!
