Talking to a gentleman who had retired from Deere and I mentioned that I was now supporting his retirement by buying parts from JD for my H and B. He told me that on several occasions that they used large pushcarts in the warehouse and when parts went obsolete that they would fill the carts up and wheel them outside to a large scrap metal bin and dump them in for the scrap iron guys to pickup. He told me of a time when they filled up several baskets with complete grills for B's and dumped them!!! Man I thought I was going to Cry!!!!

Yes I guess that could happen. when my dad went to get parts for his planter. the JD dealer just bring a BOX FULL of parts and say to him it's yours no CHARGE..! if there was no one around that had planter JD #80 they would have been throw out. when he bring home the part box and give them to me when I was working on the planter I ask huh how much you paid for all that !?!? some we dont really need.. he said FREE PARTS.. I guess so. still have that planter today.

It was AMAZING the amount of fresh green paint I used to see in scrap yards in the Quad-Cities when I lived there. Everything used to be destroyed before the yards could buy it. So much $$$$ per pound after that.

Yes that is sad but before repo flat top fenders were avail. I priced such from Deere and they were 750 ea. The more Deere scraps the farther the door opens for enterprisings ind. to filling the void at in this case a more reasonable price. Just my thoughts.

Been a higher level manager, I dislike those managers that use the calculator to add up the part is not worth the storage space. Disrespectful to servicing the end-user.
