im 35 my dads friend and someone whom i have known all my life finally purchased the old hand start model A his father had when he was a kid..he is the same age as the tractor and it was the first thing he learned to drive when he was about 10 he said, any way the old A had not run in about 10 years and i told him i would get it running and he bought all the parts i needed and i have been working on her for about a month and sunday i finally got her running...he came over and i had it running out in the pasture perfectly...first thing he did was smile like he was 10 years old again and it was christmas and he started to cry and he said it brings back so many memories he can remember riding with his father on that old A...he offered me $300 for all the work i had done on mostly saturdays and i refused! i told him the best reward i could have is seeing his face light up as she sat there running....nothing runs like a deere!!!!

I know just how your friend felt. Amongst my collection of green and yellow ones is a little orange AC "B" taht I grew up on. Every time I start her upand take one of my grandchildren for a ride it's like Dad is there on the seat with me. I agree with the soul in this old iron philosophy, it's just got to be there.

Don't you ever stop, The man was telling a story that happened to him and you had to turn it around and try to get some Thank you JTNs for yourself. I think Brian has alot more on the ball than some of these howdies who seem to think they should be defending your good name.

Dear Mr. Blaa Blaa, Did Ole John T. once steal your girlfriend? Sounds like you have a grudge against him. Why don't you contact Dr. Phil for some help and stop bugging us on the board!

Nice story,Bill, been there on both sides of the fence too. Better to give than receive. In those kind of situations $$ don't mean a thing.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of people like you left in the world. I suspect he will think of what you have done every time he thinks of this tractor. Thank you!

Great story.. And to think, some people call these old tractors a pile of scrap iron. No, they either have a soul or touch others everyday.
