I just pulled the fuel gauge apart off the 520. It apears one of the little magnetic windings has been a little warm any ideas on how to fix or find a replacement.

ET, why did you take the gauge apart? Was the fuel gauge not working? ~I tried to rewind an original Deere fuel gauge a few years ago never could get it to read correctly. The usual failure is the tank sender, are you sure that isn't the problem?
~You will have a problem finding a replacement that looks like the original. Deere has a replacement but it requires a new tank sender to go with it & doesn't look the same.
~Seeing as the usual failure is the tank unit you might be a able to find an original dash gauge that came from a tractor with a failed tank unit.
~If you have a pile of cash you might try Dennis Polk at one time he had a few.
~If you send me your E-Mail address I will send you a contact that might be able to help you....

Clooney,
The tank sender checked out ok. I put a continuity light on the sender and it goes from bright to dim as you move the float arm through its travel. The needle on the gauge only goes to the empty mark when I ground the sender wire. Any gauges I have tested in the past will be normaly at empty or full and peg the other way when I ground the sender wire. The new gauge kit is 92 dollars from john deere.
