Hi all, it warmed up into the 60's here in N.C. yesterday and I got the '41 B out for a drive. I have adjusted the throttle stop to where I can get the tractor to run so slow in low gear that the mag impulse can be heard to trip occasionally. Is this too slow? Am I going to hurt the engine by running it this slow? The oil pressure gauge stays right in the 'M' range. Thanks! And prayers go out to you and yours John T!

Thanks so much Bob, I got so many nice e mails and positive response on here lately, it really helps and his mother and I sure appreciate all the kind wonderful people and prayers and support and refuse to let any bad apples spoil all the good and us all lending a helping hand and supportign each other on here.

YOUR QUESTION: WE ALL LOVE THAT REAL slowwwww wwwww w idle no one more than me especially at tractor shows. HOWEVER, yes in reality its not good to do it for extended periods of time, because the upper cylinder area and rocker arm area does not get quite as well oiled at such low RPM's. When my B was first rebuilt with new tight valve guides it ran slow and perfect, but I let it idle a longgggg ggg time real slow like that once and the valves got to sticking.

SOOOOO OOO the slow idle is fine to brag about and neat to hear for a while, but in my opinion, I wouldn't let it run that way any long extended periods. Also, its extra unneeded wear on the mags wind and spring trip assembly if shes less than about 250 RPM and is operable.

God Bless, Ol John T Nordhoff
