How would I find the value of a nice 4230? BTW I am new to this site. This is my first post.

My Mom and I sold the family 4230 in August of 02. Here are the specs:

Was built in late 76/early 77
Soundgard Cab Quad-range trans, 2 sets hy outlets
3000 total hours, mint paint / interior
All original except newer rear tires
Tractor always stored inside

Dealership paid us $16,000 and they indicated this was about 10% less than what they would ask. I did a lot of research during the spring / summer and I thought we got a good price. This was in west-central Ohio.

They sold the tractor less than two weeks after buying it from us.

Darn good tractor. A hard starter in winter but good on fuel and lugged very well. The 404 was one of Deere's best motors.

I live in NW Missouri and around here 4230w SGB cabs in pretty good shape tire paint etc. are selling 10,000 to 14,000 just depend on condition. hope this helps. The 4230 did not start very good, but you can put in new style piston kit and improves 100%.

Welcome to the board Eugene. I had a site once that would give the approximate value of tractors. I have lost it in the shuffle. Maybe someone here has that information for you.
