Just bought an unstyled B with a generator and pulley on fan shaft.Tractor is hand start with no apparent electical options. There are no switches or light brackets, or evidence of their removal.Tractor was bought at an auction and don't know where it came from or any history.Just looking for thoughts.

Worked at JD dealership in mid 50's to early 60's, and there were a lot of tractors that were hand cranked and had a belt pulley in the fan clutch/spring arrangment, think that it was factory installed. Lots of farmers added lights and a generator to be able to plow after dark with a hand cranked tractor. Gene Davis

It wasn't uncommon for farmers to clamp the split pulley on the shaft and run a generator taken off a car and then install lights on the tractor.

Where would the lights have been mounted. There isn't any evidence of mounts on radiator or on frame. It is a 6 volt Delco generator. I guess it could have come off of a styled B,things fit to well to be homemade or jury rigged.
