I need to find outer retainer rings #A3041R for a 1949 A #636942 that was my grandfather's. My dealer can get the felt seal, but this retainer is unavailable. Anyone know of anywhere to find this part or an aftermarket source? Thanks.

I don't know if you want to restorerd the A original or not.

I left the inner cone on the axe and removed the outside cone. The I put in a normal metric grease seal.

I reused the ones on my A as they were in good shape. Pushed them out as the nut on the inside end of the axle was undone.

Mark, I believe K & K [317-398-9883] has [or at least had] them.

Mark, it was working about 2 weeks ago as I ordered some parts from K & K. You might want to try their web site or E-Mail...See link below.

Mark:
Well, You have hit upon an on going problem retoring these old tractors. I had the same problem with a B I was restoring a couple years ago.. to my knowledge, there are no after market retainers avaliable. I found mine at a salvage dealer. I think is was Sharps. This is the only place you will find these retainers. Maybe someone else here has a source for repo ones but I have never heard of any.. Good Luck and congratulations on having your grandfathers old tractor.. BTW, if anyone needs a set for late styled B, I think I have an extra set avaliable.
