It's 401C...

I phoned the owner and the tractor is a 401C, so if anyone can give me some advice on that, I's surely appreciate it..

They are good tractors..... depending of course that the previous owners maintained it appropriately...as with any used piece...Has 8 speeds forward and 4 reverse....with a reverser...no torque converter....should stall the engine when applying the brakes in any of the higher gears....may over power the brakes in 1st and 2nd....thats a quick check that the reverser is operating properly...Check for water oil mixture...porous cylinder liners cause the mix...water in oil or oil in the radiator...Loader should run smoothly without "chattering" on its way up.....price is very dependant on condition and location....and a rule to live by is "NEVER BELIEVE AN HOUR METER " !!!!!
