Old Fashioned: The only hour meters available are digital meters. In fact you can buy them from John Deere. There aren't any parts available either to repair them. Is your spring inside rusty, usually they are and that is the problem, there aren't any springs available. There was a person located in Iowa that would repair them, he has repaired them for years. But he can't locate parts anymore, even from the company that makes the springs. I spoke to him last fall and he told me if he had a repaired model on hand he would want $350.00. for it. Since a person can't see if the meter is running or not, (unless you watch it very closely for a while), I just took mine apart and cleaned it up and repainted the rim and reinstalled it on the tractor. It looks better than a digital meter.
