I saw a pair of shields on Ebay that are $145 and gaining. Are they always this exspensive? Are there repros or are they always this high. I need a pair but not that bad. Any sources or suggestions will be appreciated.

Listen up and save your money!

I have a 2510 that I had restored about 5 years ago. I would not/could not find the shields that are very pricey.

What I discovered is that the top pins on the side shields are the same as a 4020...and probably the 3020 too. These pins are the same alignment as your 2510...only difference is the height of the panel. I had the body shop cut the panels from these 4020 panels down in height and spot weld the bottom angle bracket back on. Then you can drill out the slots on this bottom piece of angle to align with the pins on the tractor frame. 4020 panels are easy to come by at junkyards and are cheaper than buying 2510 panels. I can assure you that there is no noticable difference after you repaint the side panel. I did it and it worked.

What about the rounded one over the starter. That's a one of a kind, not similiar to any others ,besides 2520[just as overpriced].

The side shield "flexes" over the starter...I know what you are referring to but it is not a problem as you might think. I can't remember if we slightly bent ours or not...just have to play with it and see what needs done.
