I cannot help but think that the 4230 R-O-M is the same identical unit found on a late 4020. There WERE updates over the years, but as the R-O-M lost it's popularity, I doubt if Deere did too many updates over the last few years. A Factory equipped R-O-M 4230 is already a SCARCE commodity. Ultimately, any DOCUMENTATION that your tractor was so equipped, MAY prove to be of some value in a few more years. Someday, the 4230 will become "collectable" and being able to PROVE that it was one of the very few that the factory equipped with R-O-M instead of the far more common wfe, might seriously ADD to the tractor's value someday. I understand that DOCUMENTATION wis essential to get top dollar for many art objects as well. A good R-O-M could be worth $200-$400. If you keep it and store it somewhere, in say another 10 years, it could add considerably MORE to the value of the 4230 than what you could get for it today. If you have a GAS 4230, I suggest that it would greatly enhance the value of the tractor to keep it. JMHO
