Hey all - I am putting a '46 Ford 2N back together - paint, new stuff to make it nice, so I visit the Ford forums.

Question for you John Deere guys. I saw a '46 John Deere LI in the implement pictures. This is a cool little tractor! How rare are these? Can a fix-it-upper be had for a reasonable price and are parts available for it?

I have some details about the LI at my website below. I don't really know what to say about their value, although I think Donny B's values are a little low. I think they are about $6000 for a restored LI (with tag!), although I've heard more and less. It just depends on how much the person wants it!

They are so collectable because of their convienient size, and the LI's rarity, compared to an L or LA. Having the serial number tag makes a big difference in price.

Brandon, My mistake on the model value. I was thinking of the LA and not the LI. I have not yet run across an LI for sale around my area(S. Central PA.) but have seen 3 LAs in the last 2 months. Prices from $2000 up.

No problem! It is hard to keep straight prices for different models. Suprising what a difference of value one letter makes in a tractor model!

Phil, The L and LI John Deere tractors are quite desirable for collectors and new John Deere enthusesiasts. In PA. fixer-uppers run $1500 up and for a good running tractor, $2500.
