Local dealer was assembling some mowers for the spring. No sabres, asked what happened and they have discontinued those. Their lowest line of stick shift mowers are $1500 with the hydro at $1800 per dealer. Looks like they are also pricing along the lines of the recession.

I was at the dealer last saturday and saw the new low budget John Deere riding mower. It was one of the new 100 series. It it was only about $1400 new. It was built to about the same quality as a cheap generic. John Deere should be ashamed to put their name on it.

Seems I heard something to the effect that discontinuing the Sabre line was part of the agreement whereby Home Depot would merchandise John Deere branded lawn & garden equipment.
