Charles....after you bleed the primary filter, secondary filter and the fuel rail, and you're certain you have fuel at the pumps, you should see white smoke out of the exhaust pipe when the diesel engine is spun under full compression. If you don't see any smoke, then the injection pump rack may be stuck in the "fuel off" position. Remove the pump housing cover, advance the throttle and watch to see if the pump rack is moving laterally.

I don't know if the 720 has a bleed bolt close to the rack but my 730 does. I had bled the filters on my 730 and cranked and cranked. Then pulled it all over the lot. Still wouldn't start or smoke. Then I found the other bleeder and it started from the seat.

I'm not too familiar with the diesels.Could I un-stick the rack from under the rocker cover?

Charles, the rack is under the big square pump cover with the 2 bolts on top of the block. Get ALL the air out of the system before suspecting the rack.

Just a thought, but I have seen the rack stick on these tractors after they sit for awhile. When the rack is stuck closed it will do just exactly what you are describing.

Charles, if it ran before the filters & doesn't now you probably have air in the fuel system. Start by opening the bleed screws on the filter rear tops then when those flow clear of air bubbles open the bleed plug on the L/H side of the engine [the one coming out of the L/H governor lever housing] & let it flow until there are no more bubbles in the fuel there. Even then you might have to crank a while to get it to start, or if still no fire, remove the rocker cover & bleed the lines at the injectors.
~Just have to ask, did you open the shut off valve on the strainer after the filter change?

yes I opened the bowl at the bottom of the tank also let fuel out of the filter housings. Will have to look for the other bleed screws and maybe the injectors.I know the engine is a little week but your right it ran going in the barn and should run now. Thank you
