Am I going to be disappointed with my H ????

I really like the way the JD A's and B's sound but I liked the size of the H better so I bought an H. My dilemma is it needs quite a bit of work so I have not heard it run, nor have I ever heard an H run, so I am wondering what to expect? I have read that they run more rpm's than the A or the B and I can see that the pistons are quite a bit smaller. It would be a boost if someone knew of a website with an audio clip of an H running on it, I have found a lot of A and B sound clips but no H's. Oh well I am getting a little winded!

Thanks
Denny

Thanks to everyone who responded and to the guys who sent audio clips! I am relieved and excited after hearing the audio clips I think it is exactly what I was looking for.

Not unless you want to be. I own two H's, A's B's, 50's 60's 20 series etc. They all have a different sound. Yes, the H is a little less agressive but still has the putt putt miss miss putt putt firing sequence. A great all around fun tractor. Easy to haul, easy to work on, good parts availability, cute. What more could you ask for? More power? Maybe go faster in high gear? That is what the other models are for.

Most H's I have been around make more governer/??? noise then the stack does. You hit that foot throttle & they sound like they are going to fly apart.

My grandpa has a 44 H with a stock muffler from Deere. (See picture in photo section) It has a nice sound. It's got more of a bark than my late B with stock muffler. I am sure you will like it.

Have fun,

Mark

Hi Denny,
I have a 50, 60, and a '39 H. The H needs more fixing up then the other two, but when I jump on one of them to just go putting around the woods and fields I usually take the H. These little tractors really grow on you. If I want alot of noise I get out the 60 with the straight stack on it, but that gets old too. I,m sure you will have fun with it after you get it running.
John
