What is a good guestimate on the increase in power in a styled d running on gas with high compression aluminum pistons. I am thinking of buying a styled d and would like to beef it up some just for the fun of it. I have two other 2 cyl. There both stock so i would like to crank one up a bit. Thanks Chris

Chris, A stock all fuel D is rated at 37HP. With high compression gas pistons, a cold manifold, and various carb and exhaust work I have seen them dyno 60+HP. While parts from aftermarket suppliers can make this dream come true, prepare to take out a second mortgage to pay for it!

Chris, you might be able to use the specs of a Gas 70 for a starting point. A stock 70 w/ iron pistons gets 50.4 HP from 379.5 cu inches. With the 501 cu inch D, that calculates to 66.5 HP. Alum high comp pistons should get you past 70 HP.
