What is wrong with the pump you have? We rebuild dozens of pumps in our (JD) shop each year. If you carry the pump in, we can have it back to you for about $1000 CAN. Often times though a hydraulic fault is blamed on the pump when it's really somewhere else in the system.

Bob, The loader was running alittle slow and jerky at times,( fluid level ok) then the front seal in the pump blew pouring out fluid. It's my bosses tractor so he took the pump in to a shop and they said it was shot, pistons ect... Justin ny

Hers some Any-Info; I had to replace a pump on mine 10 years ago. Dealer gave me a choice of a Deere rebuilt (@33% less) or new. I went with the new one based on his experience that the rebuilts didnt hold up over time. Possibly, because as the old pump wears excessively it contaminates the entire hydraulic system. Being as Deere uses the trans/differential for a hydraulic reservior on that series its virtual impossible to clean everywhere without a complete expensive tractor disassembly. So based on this I can only offer a possible course of action. If you think the tractor will go 4000 or more hours before its too tired/expensive to repair then I would go with a new pump. If not then go for a rebuilt if its still available. Hopefully someone on this board can offer up the name of a retailer with rebuilt pumps and save you some bucks.

Justin,

If you're talking about the front pump, you can buy a rebuilt one for about 725 at Abilene Machine

If that still sounds too steep - the I&T does a fairly good job of covering that pump.
