Does anybody know where to get replacement spring
clips (and tabs) that holds on the distributor cap for a JD 50 with Delco dist. My dealer says he can get the clips, but not the mounting tabs. One of mine has rusted through.

That is interesting, I tried to get the spring clips a few months ago and were told not available. I also need the spirngs for the advance weights.
Those spring clips are also the same as on many four cylinder distributors. Perhaps you can find them someplace else? I have not tried but instead took the clips off of a 4-cylinder distributor instead.

Mike,Craig
I ordered some parts for a Model 50 distributor from my JD dealer yesterday. Some of the items were.

Part #1912765 Spring advance weight $1.57
Part #811912 Washer,weight plate spacing $.10
Part # 26 H3R Washer ,Drive lug spacing $ .20

I could not beleive the prices, but he brought Me back into todays world when I priced the Clutch Dogs and Clutch Operating Bolts.Oh well,at least they can be had without calling all over the Country and not knowing what I am getting or the condition they will be in when and if they finally arrive.
Supposed to pick them up late Friday, will try to remember to ask about the clips. Some of the part numbers I posted may not be current,I heard him mumbling in the background about cross referencing and then replying "OK they can still be had"

BTW,anyone know what the acceptable end spacing movement should be on the distributor shaft?

I will post back if my dealer gets those clips. What
I really need is the tab the clip hooks in to that
attaches to the distributor with a screw. That tab
at the top also serves to line up the cap and is different from the bottom one.

I ordered some parts from Roberts Carburetor and talked to him about it and he said he was trying to find someone who could maybe make some replacements.
