I was just surfing the "Model 60 Section" and came across a couple of electrical postings where they referenced the "gas gauge on a Model 60". Did Deere (or some aftermarket company)ever make such a device? I've never heard of it.....

The only fuel gauge I saw on a 60 had a cork float on the gas cap with a stick out the top. To put a electric gauge in you would have to cut a hole in the top gas tank. Where would you put the gauge.

I have the parts manual for my '52 styled AR & it shows a fuel guage ( as well as a speed / hour meter). It may have been an optional accessory. Hope this helps?

Thanks, Roger.
I've got a '55 Model 60 and have never seen a fuel gauge in the parts or "accessories" catalogs. I've never seen a first numbered series tractor with a fuel gauge, either.

I looked in the 60 parts book, and it doesn't show a fuel gauge. Out of the first numbered series, I do know that the model 80 came with one as standard equipment. Too bad mine doesn't work at the moment! The 70 diesel parts book also shows a fuel gauge, but not the gas 70s. Probably because you DON'T want to run a diesel out of fuel!
