We are needing to do major work on/replace the wide front end on out 3020. Does anyone know of a good aftermarket replacement? Tractor has a 148 loader and often carries heavy loads. Really enjoy the discussion and info on this cite. Thanks! Rick

You can also use a case wide front up to a 1370, have seen it done change the top saddle that bolts to the tracor and your home free. Cheaper way to go and it tucks back under just a little more and turns shorter, Have seen this on 4020s A 3020 with the shorter wheel base is limited anyway, be sure and use plenty of weight for ballast. Hey Rick, do you have any trouble with lack of response from your loader controls when you are using your clutch. I have a 4020 that is giving me some grief. I am also about to mount a loader on my 3020.
I need some do's and dont's concerning the plumbing of the hyd. system. I have just received a quick fix for a hyd problem concening no response at startup.give me an e mail and I will explain if you need it.

Rickey,As I understand the system there is a "lift" pump in the transmission which is disengaged when the clutch is depressed. This will "starve" the system. I have herd of people putting tanks in front of the radiator to help with this problem.

A 4430 front axle is the way to go. However you also need an adaptor plate to go between the 4430 axle and the frame because the orientation of the pivot pins are different. Also the center steering arm will need to be changed. I put several 4630 front axles under 4020's. I believe we got the first one from the salvage yard in Sikeston, MO. I believe you can also get them from Abeliene Machine in Kansas. They have a web site but I don't know it off the top of my head. Good luck.

I believe that a wide front off a 4430 series tractor will fit. would be alot heavier than the 3020 frontend.

I don't know where you're located. But there is a large collection of John Deere and others at a salvage yard in Clinton Missouri. Cook Tractor I think is the name.
