Glen:

I read a post from last year where you had put a JD Hibernator cxty21766 battery in your 435. You have had over a year with it. Would you do it again. They are asking 130 usd for one here and it is tempting to go to walmart and by an equal cca battery for 1/2 the price and longer warranty. Thanks for your opinion!

Bob

The Hibernator is intended for occasional use equipment.Combines, forage harvesters, swathers, parade tractors etc. Hibernators sulphate and crumble slower when left idle and take a charge easier. Not recommended for daily use equipment in high ambient temps. It cranks the "N" series 2-53 over with enough speed to start at 30F after a few turns. The Strongbox is intended for daily use. Purchased the Deere battery for the small difference in price and to have the Deere name on it. I also would be embarrassed if someone thought I ever went into a Walmart. The battery has to have HD vibration resistant construction with thick plates of alloy lead and plenty of mechanical support.
