Pdl, do as Frank said & check the running pressure. If that is ok then recheck the seal installation & or drive gear shaft to housing clearance.
~Did you install the seals with the inner seal lip towards the pump & the outer seal lip towards the engine? Did you put a Permatex type sealer on the seals od? Did you remove any burrs from the drive gear drive end so you didn't knick the seal lips on installation?
~I don't see any reason to send the pump out, there isn't much to those pumps & getting those seals to hold shouldn't be a problem. My biggest problem has always been getting enough pressure out of them.

pdl:

Did you have any noticable wear grooves on that driven shaft where the seals rest ? I had one that was very worn, but Albert @ Renaissance Tractor was able to salvage it for me during the rebuild. He uses newer type seals that won't rest in the same spot.

You might want to contact him.

Thanks guys! The shaft didn't look worn or groved.Ialso used the newer seals. I think the spring loaded ball may be the problem because when I remove the bleeder plug from the pump the litttle ball seems to stick and not drop out without a tap on the pump. Do you think its a good idea to just have the pump rebuilt?

Did you check that little spring/ball pressure relief valve ? If it is stuck, the pump will build up too much pressure after the filters and rack are filled, and the only place for that pressurized fuel to go will be down the shaft and past those seals.
