I found a '36 B complete and not seized, good tin, needs total resto. The wheels are from a styled B and they are all rusted away, only the rear centers could be used. I would not try to use these wheels though. My question is how much would it cost to replace the front and rear wheels with the original round spokes and how hard are these to find. I need to know how much I should deduct from this tractors value.

Thanks,
Mike

Your tractor may have been shipped on some type of solid wheels. JD offered a couple of styles of solid wheels on the unstyled tractors. Now that everyone wants spokes,it's getting rare to see the solids. If you want, post or E-mail your serial# and I'll look it up to see how it was shipped. Unless you find a steal in a set of good rounds, you better have a fat wallet! MY 2-cents HMan

I'm not an unstyled "B" expert, but I think you may be going about this wrong. I've seen some round-spoked wheels advertised, and it seems to me that you could end up giving $2000 or more for the correct wheels in good shape, depending on which ones you want. If you find ones in rougher condition, you're going to put a bunch of time into getting those in shape. I could be way off on the price of wheels, but I know they're not cheap. If the guy with the "B" theoretically wants $2000 for it, I doubt you'll be able to talk him into giving it to you because the wheels aren't correct and are junk. If you really want the tractor, buy, restore it and put what wheels you can find and afford on it for now, and work toward finding and buying the ones you really want later. It's not going to be cheap no matter how you do it, but that's the price you have to pay to have a "correct" tractor. I've seen more than one unstyled tractor on cast centers, and I can't say that it bothered me much, but that's personal opinion.
