46 b oil pressure

I bought a new gauge and the oil pressure is 5 lb. (cold) i'm not sure were the crankcase cover and adjusting screw is?

Keith,

The cover is on the top of the main case, behind the governor. There are many reasons for low oil pressure, but you should find the adjustment on top of the oil filter canister. Hopefully this will give you enough pressure. If somebody tightened the filter too tight, it will warp the sheet metal canister that the filter goes in and it will leak between the canister and the housing that bolts on top of it.

I went out to the shed to look (burr). the cover it the starter mount & the oil spout is that right?

That would be right keith. You have to take the stater off and maybe the breather before you can get all(I think 6)the bolts out.
