When I was taking the valve cover off my 1950 D a few weeks ago this casting piece was bolted to the flywheel side of the 2 bottom bolts. It measures about 5" across the top 2" down and its sort of looks like a trinangle. I can't figure out what the purpose of this thing is so if you could help me that's be great. Thanks, Ryan

Clooney, My 47 D has the same stop and has the long axle. Was this part exclusive to the short axle? Merry Christmas!

Donny-B, as far as I know it was for the short axle only. But with the old Deere's you never know. It could have been added by a previous owner, or dealer, or there could even have been a Deere service bulletin to adopt it's use.

Ryan, is this a test? That D2763R is an axle stop used with the short D-2759R ft. axle when in the offset position.

Clooney,
Now that you say that it does make sense and was a stupid question. Thanks, Ryan
