Since the 70 gas has a bore of 5 7/8" a 70 diesel piston 6 1/8"would require more boring than sensible to try, the diesel wrist pins are much larger than the gas rod will take, however bushings can be made to press fit into the diesel pistons to accomodate the gas rod and wrist pin. It has been done but is not worth the work. the 70 gas block will get very thin when boring 1/4" out.Don't do this to a working tractor.

What about clearing the spark plug with the diesel piston? The diesel's pistons go within a couple of thou of the cylinder bore top. The compression ratio would require purple aviation fuel. What is the pin heights on the two different pistons? A quick rough measurement is 5.00" from pin centerline to the diesel's piston top. It will cost less time and money to just purchase the proper gas or better yet LP pistons and use them.
