I was wondering how I can add hydraulic cylinders and controls to the bucket of a #45 loader on a model 60? It is currently a trip bucket style.

A hydraulic bucket option was available from the factory. I wonder if it's possible to find one in a salvage yard that might have the hydraulic option. Or find someone that owns a model 45 with that option that would sell it for a very reasonable price.

Adding the cylinders is really pretty simple, you need to just weld some brackets onto the boom arms and the bucket. Measure the distance when the bucket is latched between the boom arms and the bucket and when in extended or dumped. Then the search for a cylinder with the proper diameter and stoke. Depending on how your boom valve is set up it may just be the simple process of adding a double spool valve. What tractor is it on?

It is on a model 60. The loader uses the PowerTrol lever on the right side of the seat.

I have one of the Deere aftermarket kits on my 45. Works great, although I did some re-plumbing to make the controls more handy and mounting handier. When I was a kid, I remember Dad adding the cylinders and brakets referred to above on a different 45 loader. If you want, I can send you some pictures and take measurements to help with your project.
