Howdy all. I would like to do some bargain hunting and hope maybe some of you fine gentlemen could help me out. I need to replace the main gasket on my R's transmission housing. I'm told JD doesn't sell the individual gaskets any more. However, an old dealer friend tells me they still can get sets that include that gasket. Can anyone tell me what kind of price I may be lookin at for this set and can anyone tell me what the cheapest I might have to pay would be. I appreciate the help. Also, where might I find the 3rd and 4th gear piece? I haven't got a chance to look at it yet but from the sound I get in those gears I'd wager to say one of the sprockets is shot. thanks. God bless.

If you are talking about the gasket between the rearend and trans case, go to the dealership and see if they can get part # R32R. If you are talking about the gasket between the rearend and powershaft housing, see if they can get part # R301R. I just bought R301R this week for my R so I know they can get that one. JD does not sell the transmission gasket set anymore. You can get a few individual gaskets depending on what you need.

Are you looking for the gasket on top or the gasket on the side cover? I have the side cover gasket, the top one is not available. I used a rubber gasket replacement on mine...it works great without any leaks. Harry
