I have a 4010D with the cartridge type fuel filters. I would love to use something different, due to the aggravation of this setup. Whoever had the tractor before me was rather fond of silicone to stop the filter canisters from leaking. Will the dual screw-on setup from another tractor fit in the place of the original setup?

I will ditto Dans advice on the snap on glass filter. My 4020 has that and my 3020 will have it sometime this next year. Its just a lot nicer adn you can see the fuel and know you have it bled. Its very easy to replace and the filter is about 9.00. I got one just a short time ago.

Thanks. I'm gonna try to make the original setup work first, just to keep it original, but that'll be my next step.

Nothing at all wrong with the original as far as I can tell. I just use mine in a custom baling business and need them as easy to service as possible. You might try going to the original 4020 sytle filters however. They are a spin on type.

the 2 screw on filter assembly will work fine, but they also like to leak. I would go with the 1 glass filter that snaps in place that was used on the newer 3020, 4020, and most models after that. The only time these will ever leak is if the strap that snapsthe filter on is worn out, but that is not too expensive to replace.
