This my 1st tranmission job,,I got the top shaft out..The bottom shaft I have taken the nut off and the snap ring off from the fly wheel side and have the pulley side bearing holder off also, It will move left and right alittle but it won't come out. I did notice a snap ring between two of the gears..Could that be the culprit? Help me if you can, Thanks Ben.

Ben, you picked a good tarns to start with, the 720-730 if a complicated trans.
~Basically your shaft is hung up on the idler gear spacer. [that needs to come loose before the shaft will come out],,, What is your tractors S/N as there are 2 different versions & they come apart a little different? ~Or if you might just want to dig in & figure it out yourself, one spacer comes loose by removing 2 bolts from the halves & the other has a snap ring in a slot.
~Either let us know what s/n [& even then some have been updated to the later snap ring part], or let us know how you do with it when you get it out?

This one has a snap ring on the big shaft.I will have to get you the ser# later when I get off work tommorrow and I am back in the shop with it, My brother is helping me with this task. It does have some busted teeth on four of the gears, three on top shaft, one on the bottom, So I know this is going to hurt.

Ben, if it has the snap ring in the slot of the spacer you don't need the s/n, it's the later one & you will need to use a snap ring pliers to open the ring & hold it open [it stays in the spacer]& kind of wiggle the shaft through the spacer. Turn the shaft & spacer until the snap ring slot is up so you can open the ring..
