I am digging out a cam on a JD 60, first time for this project. Currently having problems getting the Governor assembly off the tractor. Used pry bars on governor and still didn't move and yes all the bolts are loose or off. ????s Does the power-trol pump need to be off before removal??? Do I have to take off the fly-wheel and the clutch assembly to remove the cam???? Thanks for your help in advance (just alittle X-mas project)HAHA

60 jd, I always pull the Hydraulic pump first, you really shouldn't have to but it's much easier that way. Did you unbolt the nut that's under the rear edge of the hydraulic pump? If not remove that.. It should just pry up then..

Sorry, I repair but am hesitant to give much internet advice on governors, but on the earlier tractors, the steel oil line that feeds the governor up underneath from the crankcase has to be disconnected before the governor lifts off. Not sure if same on a 60??? On my A and B's etc I can get to the oil line fitting via removal of the top crankcase cover and remove it then the governor can lift off. Im sure the other good ol boys can advise if the 60 is the same or not.
