Hello All,

I would like to add a front end loader to my John Deere 60 to help out with chores. My 60 has 2 hydrolic hookups in the back. What one was desgined to work on this tractor, and do you know what a fair price for one would be?

Thanks.
Matt

A #45 will work beautiful on your 60. I have a 45 on a 60 and 720 both and its surprising just what it will lift. Here in Michigan good 45 loaders can be had for around 4-600 dollars. Make sure if you buy one you get the mounting brackets that bolt to the rear axle, also mast support braces that run from rear of loader arms down to frame of tractor and the mounts for these braces that bolt to the tractor frame. good luck :-)

Where are you located at? I have a JD 45 on my JD 60, but I just switched from a narrow front end to a wide front and I don't think it will work now. Not sure, but that's someone told me. I think I'll have to go to a 45W, which has curved beams that allow for the wide front end. Anyone's comments would be welcomed. If it won't work then my 45 would be for sale.

A Du-Al 200 or 250 works well. The wide frame model will bolt to the axle pads and front frame of practically every deere from the B to a 3010. It has a hyd bucket, and works from a PTO pump. With the live PTO on your 60, it'll work well. Much stronger and handier than the JD models. I paid 600.00 for mine in central SD, with a grapple fork.

I've got one on a 49 A, you have to have four hands to run it sometimes, (no live PTO) but it works great!

My two cents,

Doc

The models 45 and 45W were from the era of the 60 tractor. There are others but I'm not familiar with model numbers. These are JD loaders. Other makes were around then too, like Du-All and Farmhand. Prices are hard to judge as so much depends on the condition. I have a model 45 on my 50 tractor, but it's not for sale. It came with the tractor some 12 years ago at what today would be considered a ridiculously low price.

Ron,

The No. 50 loader I mentioned in my prior post is a heavier-duty loader than the 45 (channel frame as opposed to pipe).

The No. 50 loader was designed for the '50', '60' and '70' tractors. Maybe someone else can give you an idea of the value.

A No. 45 loader will also work on a '60, and there was a 45-W for tractors with adjustable wide front ends. The literature I have on the 45-W shows it on a '620', but it should work on a '60' with the adjustable wide front.
