I added a second set on the first 4020 I had. I just ordered the valve and breakaway coupler from somewhere(?), can't remember where and had rubber hyd. hoses made to go to the back. I ordered all new levers and linkage rods from deere. Worked out great. Unless you were just going for perfect restoration, I would'nt even think about getting steel lines, the hyd. hose's are so much easier to route and cheaper too.

Yes, the 4010 can be equipped with dual SCVs. It was optional from the factory. Probably the best way to go about it would be to find a 4010 donor tractor in the scrap yard that has the complete set-up. Either that or you'll likely have to do a lot of piecing out. The actual couplers and valves will be the same whether the SCV is the #1 or #2, so the main differences will be in the levers, linkage and lines. Come to think of it, most if not all of the lines are probably available new, so if you could procure the high-dollar parts (valve and coupler) used and rebuild them, you may be able to do the whole project pretty reasonably. I know the valve and coupler rebuild kits are readily available, and your dealer likely has them in stock. A 3010 may work to provide a lot of the needed components, but I don't know if everything would be identical. I would get a hold of a parts book and start comparing. Good luck with the 4010.

You should also be able to use the hydraulic parts off of a 3020 or 4020 that has the hydraulic lever up by the steering column.

I bought and installed the parts from a 3020 onto a 3010. I did have to drill and tap out holes in the rearend housing for mounting the couplers. It was not that difficult. Took me an afternoon to complete the job (with the aid of the JD service and parts manuals).

I picked up the complete set of parts for an extra set of valves for 360USD at auction. If you just buy the coupler valves and the controller (can't remember the correct term) as rebuilds you'll have about 1000USD invested. I don't believe those came with the necessary parts to add to your existing system including longer bolts to connect the extra controller to the bottom of your existing one, longer bolt, extra bushing, and extra lever and linkage, and the lines running from the controller to the coupler valves.

Yes, the valve, coupler, levers and linkages are the same for the 3010 & 4010. Not sure about the lines though. I used the parts off a 3010 for a 4010 a couple of times except for the lines. They were rotten.
