G Left Main Bearing Housing Gasket

I went to my John Deere dealer yesterday and ordered some parts. They can't get the left main bearing gasket anymore. What is everybody doing to solve this problem? I have some cork gasket material, but I believe it is too thick and spongy to use for this problem. Thanks for the information.

A lot of those old gaskets are available in the gasket sets shown in the parts book, when they aren't available individually. You need gasket set #AF1077R. It lists for around $33 at your dealer, and is a main bearing replacement gasket kit. It will include a reduction cover gasket, crankcase top cover gasket and several others. You may not need them all right now, but you can certainly put the extras on a shelf for a rainy day. Different grades of gasket material are available, but $33 seems a lot cheaper than the time involved in cutting out gaskets, and gasket paper isn't exactly cheap either. Good luck with the "G".
