May all you tractor loving (or non tractor lovers also) ladies and gentelmen have a safe, happy and blessed Thanksgiving. I always tell my men friends we have fun because we go to the in laws where the women folk prepare copious amounts of delicious edibles including the traditional turkey (I prefer hickory smoked), dressing, real mashed potatoes smothered in butter, corn, green beans, fresh rolls, cranberies and pumpkin pie with a pound of Cool Whip. Then after we stuff ourselves, the men retire to the living room where we watch football, take naps, snore, some suck down a few adult beverages, belch and pass gas while the ladies do dishes and yak yak yak and we all love it lol. Seriously, I give thanks to be in a country where we all have such freedoms and I thank God for all those brave men who served, fought and died to keep the rest of us safe and free. My father was in the Battle of the Bulge and one of my sons is a Marine. As the sign often posted at a nearby American Legion states on Veterans day " All gave some, some gave all." I believe in free speech as much as the next guy, but I would advise those flag burners to NOT desecrate our flag in front of any American Legion or VFW on Memorial Day. So, God Bless you all and Happy Thanksgiving. I enjoy learning from all my friends and the wondeful people on this board, and helping out whenever possible. Ol John T Nordhoff in Indiana

May we always feel safe here at home not because of what we did but what our soldier boys do each an every day to keep us free. My son is one of those that are looking war in the face but I am thankful he is still in the U.S.A. for now . Remember him in your prayers and Happy Thanksgiving to all. And keep the Green comming.

John T,

And a Happy Thankgiving to you, yours, and all who read this bulletin board!! Thanksgiving to me when I was growing up in Indiana meant most of the things you mentioned, but, you forgot picking corn because we were always late. The "city cousins" always came and sat around the house while I got to haul corn in from the picker.

Anyway, we are indeed fortunate to live where we can compare notes, swap lies, pick corn, and all the rest of the "real world" things you mentioned.

Stan

John T,

Good to hear people have normal Thanksgivings down there in B'town a.k.a. Sin City, (the dorm room porno thing has me bent of late).

Here's wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving as well.

Steve

Yep Steve, I have a son at IU, hope he wasnt in that thing lol. Although there are many ultra liberals in this college town, a few of us old fashioned fuddy duddy conservative Christians live here also. However, the Thanksgiving thing I mentioned is down in Jasper, Indiana (German Catholic Town) which is even more to my liking. John T
