I have a 1020 diesel with power steering. The fan belt broke and it looks like I have to remove the radiator and disconnect a coupling to get a new belt back on. Surely I would not have to go through this to install a fan belt!! Somebody please tell me an easier way. Thanks

Ayup Ive been there. You should be able to change the belt without taking off the radiator. You will haave to uncouple the hyd. coupler tho. Underneath the front engine support is a two bolt cover that will help give you access if removed. Anytime you have to take that coupler apart I always use new bushings in it. Their cheap and important and simple to replace.

Frank,
If you can work in tight spaces, you may be able to do it without taking out the radiator. But you surely are going to have to remove the drive shaft to the front pump.

Been there with my 1020. That's a beefy belt they use; take a look to see why it broke, maybe some miss alignment is chewing on it.
