Ive heard you say you mix kerosene and gas in one of your tractors. What is a good percentage mix. Also what about gas and diesel. I just want the most power i can get if mixing a little kerosene or diesel will help. But i really dont want the hassel of starting then getting hot then switching to kerosene. Thanks

Clooney i dont really expect anything. I just thought if it would make a little difference in horsepower i would do it but im probably better off sticking with my gas and 2 cycle oil. Thanks

Chris, theoretically 100% kerosene should make a little more power due to it's higher BTU content but that is offset a little by it's slower burning & more misfires per minute & the fact the engine must be run hotter than gasoline so the intake mixture is also hotter. ~I haven't ever put the gasoline vs. kerosene on a dyno test but have pulled the same tractor under a load with gasoline & kerosene & the kerosene seems to lug down a little better & sure has a good sweet smell while pulling..

Chris, it depends of the ambient temperature & weather or not you want to start on gasoline & run on the kerosene mix or try to start it on the mixture & how well your shutters or radiator heat control works. Let me know what you expect of the mixture. ~While the diesel has a little more BTU's per gallon it has a tendency to get by the rings & pollute the oil if much is used, so I like kerosene much better & the BTU's per gallon is more than gasoline & only slightly less then #2 diesel.....
