I got a 4430 that when I first start it up the steering is slow about engaging, its always when I turn it to the right, after its warmed up a little its steers just fine, whats the problem.

If your tractor has a lot of hours on it it could be the charge pump in the transmission is getting weak. If it is an early 4430 it could be the (I think this is what it is called) thermo bypass. It would have a fitting on the left side of the transmission case coming out of the sump screen plug. The hose on this fitting routes up to the hydraulic oil cooler on the front of the tractor. Under the oil cooler you should see a small metal fitting in line. If this goes bad it can affect your lube pressure and cause sluggish hydraulics.

I had a 4430 several years ago, wish I still had it! I'm in no way an expert mechanic but I do most all of my own wrench turning. My first thought would be that a check valve or the like is letting hyd. fluid drain back when the engine is off. Once started and running a few minutes everything should be bleed out and be fine. I really dont' see more than a nuicence problem but you may want to get an second opinion and get it looked at. My 2 cents worth
