Adding Remotes on a 2520/3020

How much trouble is it to add additional remotes to one of these tractors with side console? I am looking at several of these and most have one remote and if I buy one I will probably want to add one or maybe two. Are the parts available new or will I need to find used?

There is also a block that mounts between your present valve and the tractor. which allows you to get pressure and return to run another valve from Fleet Farm or someother aftermarket place. Just make sure you get a closed center valve. This is how I put an extra three pair of outlets on my 2520.

Putting second remote on a console tractor isn't bad if things come apart without breaking alot of bolts and linkage.Start removing the sheetmetal around the right side of the seat and then remove knobs on remote and three point hitch. That's the easy part, now is when you start breaking things and using old words new ways.
Remove the plastic top of tower then outside sheetmetal. Now you can see your linkage and levers. The left remote is already there, you will be adding the right lever and linkage, not hard if your new one is free and adjusts freely.Make sure things are free before trying to install new one.If you can get new linkage, get it.The actual valve can be bought remaned or a good one from a junkyard will be cheaper.Remove cover on leftside of rocksaft housing and install second valve.Install linkage adjust and put sheetmetal and tower back together.
If things are clean and not stuck it's not a bad job.But after 30 plus years most everything you touch is rust welded and going to break or twist of.
The good thing is the 3020 and the 2520 are the same system as a 4020 and 4000,so parts shouldn't be hard to get from a junkyard.

Thanks John, that doesn't sound too bad in and of itself. Some of the modern Deere tractors require a lot of new parts and engineering to get additional remotes run out of the power beyond port. Of course , like you said, I have seen these "small projects" turn into nightmares by a couple of broken bolts.
