I've read where several of you have suggested a Champion D 23 spark plug in an H. When I put this plug in my H, it is so long that the wire connector on top contacts the steel plug cover. It doesnt start so good that way! Do you have this problem too or is there something peculiar about my H? What alternative plug is shorter? The D 23 sticks out of the block 2 3/4". I'm looking for a "parade duty" hotter plug?

Leon, those D-23's are a little longer base plug & tend to get pretty close to the cover. The covers vary a little as well so on some applications they will hit the plug top. ~You can use Autolite 388, that is a good heat range match to the D-23 but a fair amount shorter.

Try autolite 3116 in your H. They work better in mine than an of the other plugs.
