I am trying to get the name of a movie I think was made in the early 70's to late 80's. I know that the theme was where two men have some old 95 combines they fix up to get in a crop and then they go out and buy some 8820's to finish it up. I would also like to know of some other good farming movies that were made. I know the River is a good one with Mel Gibson. Thanks any way

There was another good movie called The Race Against the Harvest, with Mike Ferrall. That one has a derby in the middle of it. He does get hailed out and has to cut to save the farm. Starts with old 95's and does get 8820's to get tore up by a twister. Sorry to give the movie up, but it is good to watch during snow storms.....

Amber Waves is another one, TV movie made in the late 70's starring Dennis Weaver and Kurt Russell. I recorded it off Cinemax several years ago, dont know if it is available on video now or not.

Don't forget Bitter Harvest with Ron Howard.
It was about the PBB or PCP (or whatever that fire retardent was) contamination in feed. I was a teen in Michigan when it happen.

It does have the derby in it but its not right at the end, its more like just a little past half way through. I'll be glad when I get the vcr back up and running, I'd kinda like to watch it. The dang vcr went to eating tapes? I may try it again though.

It is called "Race Against The Harvest". I got mine from Amazon.com. It is a really good movie and has more to it than just tractors and combines. Another good movie is "The 2000 Mile Harvest". Bill
