Took out my pistons tonight and want to start looking for some replacement pistons. Are these standard size? If so, I will be looking for 45 over cast iron kerosene pistons. What is the number for those? Thanks for the help.

I think you need to check for a oil pressure problem!!!

She will peg the oil pressure gage. Rolling it over by hand with the pistons and rods out. Oil will come poring out the crank journals.

Check for a loose or broken oil line.

F553R pistons are all fuel standard. How good of shape are they? I would like to buy them if you don't need them. Thanks John D

Well, if I can find over sized cast iron kerosene pistons I would sell them. You another person that doesn't want high compression aluminum? Something went wrong with the rod bushing. They both cracked, spun and took out the wrist pin at the rod. I don't think the pistons got much wear. The pin fits good in the piston. I will take the piston to work and mic. the bore of the piston. Keep in touch.

Will, I have a set of good .045 over cast-iron all-fuel pistons. Also have nearly new JD rings on them. They ran for a total of maybe 4 hours before I tore it back down. I'm going to aluminum pistons and may be interested in selling the old ones. Email me if you would be interested.
