I am still getting water in the left cylinder of my 1935 D. I cannot find a crack or head problem. I again took the head off, had it plained, and used #3 permatex on the head gasket. I started the engine and again it is spitting water out of the left petcock. I have examined the head and block and cannot find any cracks. Any ideas where to check?

Have you had the head pressure tested? My machinist didn't have a plate big enough to test mine and had to fab one.
Just a thought.

I just got back from my machinist. He magnifluxed the head and found two hairline cracks around both exhaust valve seats. Talk about a sick feeling.

I think you can have that repaired, what did the machinist say?

He said it would probably be a toss up with cost having the current head repaired and finding another head. He said there are shops that could probably do it.

Cheg, does it still have a water valve on it?

Not hooked up. The line to the carburetor has been removed and a cap put on at the block.

I just pulled the head back off and looked behind the valves. I still cannot find anything. I am tempted to take the head back to the machine shop and have it thoroughly cleaned. When I took the tappet cover off, it looked like water had mixed with the oil. The oil was milkey. When I put the head on the first time. I used new lead washers and torqued to specs.

The machinest had a couple very small pits left on the head. The sealer should have taken care of that. I am really baffled on this one.
