Jose, That is a John Deere tractor. It is a model 101 which was an experimental tractor. There were several of them built, but this is the only one known to still be in existence. It is owned by Ron Koogler of Ohio. There is an article about it in the Nov/Dec 2001 issue of Antique Power Magazine. It's seems that either Green Magazine or Two-Cylinder Magazine had a piece on it too, but I couldn't find it real quick .

There are two of these tractors known to still exist. This is the only one in private hands - the other is owned by John Deere Company.

My mistake for the day, DaveH

After DaveH's responce about Mr. Koogler's tractor i went to the local library 4 houses up the street my Farmall collector friend to have a look at his Sept./Oct 01 issue of Antique Power and low and behold i am wrong about this tractor being the recreation of a 101. While at the Ohio Expo i convinced my self that it was the copy and never gave it a good look for what is realy is. So first i must apologize to Mr. Koogler for trying to discredit his fine tractor and also to Dwayne Ridenour for trying to interject confusion and to thank DaveH for putting me on the path to straight and narrow. Thanks gwh

Dave, Where did you get your information, i have only seen articles on the Koogler tractor and it was on display at the Ohio expo 2 in July when i was there. This tractor is a recreation and displayed as such. I have not heard of any surviving examples of this tractor held by John Deere or any else.gwh

The information that I gave here comes from the Sept./Oct. 2001 (not the Nov./Dec. issue - man, 2 mistakes in one day!!!) of Antique Power magazine. I know that I have read about it somewhere else too, but just can't find it right now. I have talked to Ron on several occasions about this tractor and some other interesting pieces that he has. This tractor is not a recreation and wasn't displayed as such at Springfield.

There were five of these tractors built. Jeff McManus knows about the one that Deere still has. He states that it is a "basket case".

Ron used to display his 101 as the only one in existence until McManus approached him about the one in storage at Deere. Ron just changed his sign to say it's the only privately owned one in existence.

John Deere does have one, but it is in pieces and not complete.

Dwayne, You people were at Springfield Ohio at the Expo so i'm sure you know this tractor well, but what about the tractor (in pieces) that Deere has? Seems if it existed it would make it's way to Jeff at the Collectors Center for display or restoration. gwh

When I first opened the post, I got red Xs instead of pictures. I could see the pictures after I pasted the URL in the address bar.

I didn't understand your instructions Dave, so I asked my wife who is very computer literate but doesn't get on the net very often and she had no luck either. Thanks,HJ

HJ,
Right click on the red x. Go to properties. There should be some URL info there. Copy that location and paste it.
