I'm converting an old corn crib into a heated shop to work on my old John Deeres during cold WI winters. I'm looking for any advice on heat and lighting. It's 20x40 and 10'high. I'm trying to stay away from wood heat, but do have a natural gas line close by. Thanks....

That's what we did. Put in an older forced air furance, no duct work except exhaust pipe thru the wall and up. We've had it for 6 years-- works great--we keep the shop at about about 40 degrees except when we're working in it. We use a 300 gallon propane tank and fill it once a year. Our shop is 30 x 52 with 12 foot ceiling and it's all insulated. It has 3 overhead doors.

Scott, We sell REZNOR waste oil furnace and infrared I would recommend the tubeheating .If you are insulated good you might be able to heat with about 50 to 75000 BTU. Our smallest waste furnace is 140000 They work super good but the cost of the unit is 3times higher. But if you have waste oil its free heat. The word here in Illinois is natural and LP is going up.Check with your local furnace people they can spec a unit for you . Earl
